Travis Jones
Regenerative Ranching Advisor
Travis Jones serves as a regenerative ranching advisor at Noble Research Institute. Before coming to Noble, Jones spent over 20 years working within the U.S. Forest Service, the U.S. National Park Service and the USDA National Resources Conservation Service where he gained insights and knowledge in federal fire management, public and private land conservation and USDA farm bill programs. He received his bachelor’s degree in rangeland ecology and land management and his master’s degree in international agriculture with a focus on grassland systems from Oklahoma State University. He is interested in learning more about rancher’s perspectives on regenerative agriculture principles and practices and how the decision-making process ties to the human component of agriculture and land management. Jones and his family own a small operation where they are establishing a regenerative orchard with pecans, fruit and native trees using permaculture methodology.
At Noble, Travis focuses on prescribed fire operations and planning, land management goals and objectives planning and native grassland systems.
