Research emphasis: genetic transformation
The research focus of the Genetic Transformation lab has been on the generation of novel germplasm by direct introduction of agronomical genes into important forage crops. Main research areas include developing tissue culture and transformation techniques, cloning agronomic genes and promoters, and production of transgenic forage plants with improved agronomic traits. For details, see the tissue culture and transformation research report.
