White-tailed Deer Management Workshop
by Ken Gee
The fall hunting season is fast approaching and with it comes an increased interest in deer management. The Noble Foundation is sponsoring its 5th annual Whitetailed Deer Management Workshop on Thurs., Sept. 17 at the Coffey Ranch near Marietta, in Love County, Oklahoma.
Topics include deer biology, habitat and population management, antler development, antler scoring, deer aging, food habits, deer management associations, poaching, leasing, and more. A spotlight survey demonstration will be conducted in the evening.
The workshop will last from 10:00 a.m. through 6:30 p.m. The spotlight survey will conclude around 9:30 p.m. Lunch and dinner will be provided. Due to the "hands-on" nature of the workshop, attendance will be limited to the first 40 persons who preregister with Becky Kittrell at (580) 223-5810. An agenda and directions will be mailed to all registrants. Portions of the workshop are field-oriented, so dress accordingly.
Hope to see you there!
