Agricultural Division Staff: Deke Alkire
Alkire grew up on a diversified farm in Missouri and began at the Noble Foundation in October 2007 after completing his Ph.D. in Animal Science. His responsibilities include livestock consultation with Noble Foundation cooperators and the public. In addition, he will be involved in beef cattle nutrition research that directly affects producers in the Noble Foundation Service Area. Alkire graduate research focused on supplementing low-quality forage with by-product feedstuffs as well as fat supplementation in concentrate rations. Alkire grew up near Warrensburg, Mo., southeast of Kansas City. Member of American Society of Animal Science (ASAS)
